The project So Much Love consists of 13 songs, and I enjoyed recording every one of them. I have been asked several times about which is my favorite song from the project. That’s difficult to pinpoint, because each song has its own character and vibe. However, there is something exceptionally special about the song titled “Man Enough”. I went through several producers/arrangers, trying to find the one who shared my vision; there were times when I thought I would never find the right fit. Still, I never lost focus on my vision for the song.
Eventually, I met Philippe Saisse, an acclaimed musician and producer/arranger. When I first sent him the demo of the song, he asked for some time to pull together his ideas on how to tackle the song… I liked that; it gave me the confidence to feel that he was the right MAN for this job. In a little more than a week, he called me to discuss his thoughts on how the song could be nailed… I loved his plan immediately. To cut a long story short, he got hold of the right cats for the song, cats with unimaginable caliber and musicianship, to perform the song, and boy did they KILL IT!!! God bless everyone of them, because they WOWED ME!
After putting the track together for the song, I had to drop the vocals… I told my studio finder to locate a class-act studio for me to record this song, and he sure did… The song was recorded at Westlake Studios in Los Angeles, CA. Everything about this song came with a high sense of class; it truly represents my sound and who I am as an artist. Right from the start, everyone at Westlake Studios catered to me with love, respect and class… I LOVE THIS STUDIO!!! My engineer, Tucker Robinson, was exceptionally SUPERB, as was Jose Balaguer, my assistant for the project. Vocals were done with Master Edwards… MUCH LOVE to every one of them.
